"Shooting Near SF Japantown Leaves One Injured"

A 22-year old man is in serious condition after being shot in the chest early Sunday morning on the corner of Geary Boulevard and Webster Street.

Police have not released the name of the injured party, who was taken to the San Francisco General Hospital.

The incident began with two men arguing at around 4 a.m. outside of the Won Mee Restaurant on 1545 Fillmore St.

The argument then escalated to a physical fight during which a third man produced a gun and began waving it around.

According to the police report, one of the two men who were originally arguing then took the gun from the third man and shot him with it, said police Lt. Leroy Lindo.

The suspect, who has not been found, fled the scene in a dark, four-door Honda Accord with paper plates.  He is described him as an Asian male between 25-26 years old, 5 foot 8 inches, 145 pounds with black hair.

Witnesses have been cooperative in giving accounts of the events that occurred, but have not shared with police any names, said Lt. Lindo.

Lindo could not determine what side of Geary the incident occurred.
