Hi, I'm Kori-Kai ("Kai"). Welcome to my website!

I'm a freelance web coder/designer, document designer, résumé writer and copy editor based in Sacramento, California.

My "style" is simple, clean documents that highlight the information being presented. I strive to make my work — be it design, editing or writing — clear, concise and accurate.

My first love was copy editing — it excites me to take a "close, but not quite" draft and mold it into a flawless finished product. I love finding just the right way to express a thought. However, I want my work to be accessible to everyone, so I avoid using unnecessarily complicated language or design.

Personal stuff:

Born and raised in Hawai`i (in Wahiawa, then Hilo), then moved to Washington, D.C. to attend the George Washington University, majoring in English, with minors in journalism and Japanese. Packed up and moved to Hiroshima-ken, Japan for one year to teach English on the J.E.T. Programme. Lived in San Francisco for two years. Currently reside in Sacramento.

When not studying new design methods, I enjoy dancing (from ballet to hip-hop to hula, I love it all), traveling and eating yummy/unhealthy food.
